Class Teaching All classes are open to everyone; no previous experience is assumed or required. Each class is presented in a single, comprehensive session with a live instructor. Questions are welcomed and encouraged.

Grant Writing & Fundraising Classes

Our Grant Writing Classes can be taken in any order; however, the recommended order is below:

  1. Grant Writing – this comprehensive overview will teach you the essentials of researching and applying for grants with an emphasis on finding appropriate grants. The class includes fundraising, finding grants funding from governmental and private sources, and best practices for grant applications and proposals.
  2. Grant Proposal Writing – this class serves as part 2 of our general Grant Writing Class, although it can be taken independently. While our general Grant Writing class emphasizes grant research, this class examines the process of writing a grant proposal and submitting an application; includes writing exercises and samples.
  3. Grant Management & Reporting – this class entails two interconnected types of management reporting: narrative reports and budget-based reports. For narrative reports, this class covers best practices, special issues by grant source (federal, state and private), and effective narrative strategies. For budget-based reporting, this class covers essential terms and provides an overview of the budgeting process and managerial reports.

These practical Fundraising and Grant Writing Classes that can be taken in any order:

Fundraising – a general overview of the most effective fundraising tools, programs, and strategies for nonprofit organizations. Major topics covered include traditional fundraising methods, online fundraising, sponsorships, donations and grant funding.

How to Find & Apply for Grants – a practical overview of the entire grant writing process, this class will teach you how to find attainable grants, with an emphasis on private funding sources, as well as the best practices to successfully apply for them.

Becoming a Grant Writer – this class presents the steps necessary to become a freelance grant writer, while providing a strong and specific explanation of the grant writing process including grant prospecting and grant proposal writing.

Understanding Grants – a short class that provides an overview of the grant writing process, the different types of available grants and eligibility requirements for each. Ideal for those considering if and when to apply for grant funding.


Excel & Software Applications

Our Excel Classes can be taken in any order; however, the recommended order is below:

  1. Excel – fills in the gaps in what you know about Excel
  2. Excel Best Practices – general tips and tricks in Excel
  3. PivotTables– quickly and easily simplify data
  4. LookUp Functions – one of the most popular functions in Excel

Covering widely used Software, Applications and Platforms; these classes can be taken in any order:

Microsoft Word – Enhance your document creation skills in our Microsoft Word class. This hands-on course will guide you through essential features such as formatting text, creating templates, utilizing styles, and inserting tables and images. Learn to craft professional-looking documents with ease, while discovering tips for collaboration and document sharing.

Microsoft Teams – Dive into the world of collaboration with our Microsoft Teams class, perfect for both newcomers and seasoned users. You will learn to navigate channels, host video meetings, share files, and integrate various apps to enhance teamwork.

Microsoft Outlook – Unlock the full potential of Microsoft Outlook in this comprehensive class that explores essential features such as email management, calendar organization, task tracking, and contact management. Learn tips and tricks to streamline your workflow, enhance productivity, and effectively collaborate with colleagues.

Microsoft PowerPoint – this hands-on, comprehensive course will teach you all the essential elements of Microsoft PowerPoint including slide presentations, templates, pictures, art, sound, video, animation, transitions and integration. Perfect for everyone; no prior experience is required

QuickBooks – this complete training class is designed to quickly teach you the fundamental elements and best practices of QuickBooks to help you avoid mistakes, find answers to accounting problems and improve cash flow. No prior experience is assumed or required.

Google Sheets – a complete training class designed to quickly and easily teach you the basic features and best practices of Google Sheets including navigation, formulas, data, charts, tables, formatting, saving and sharing. Perfect for those of all comfort levels; no experience is required

Google Sheets part 2 – a continuation of Google Sheets with an emphasis on PivotTables, Lookup Functions, Compatibility with other programs, and an in-depth look at Charts and Tables

Google Docs – improve your document creation and collaboration skills. Whether you are writing essays, reports, or professional documents, this class will guide you through the essential tools and features of Google Docs to enhance your productivity and streamline your workflow.

Canva – create professional-quality graphics with ease, including social media posts, presentations, flyers, and custom logos. This class covers the essential tools and techniques to fill in the gaps of your knowledge base

WordPress a versatile website publishing platform that is rapidly becoming the standard for business websites. This hands-on course will show you how to build, update and manage a website using WordPress. No experience or technical background is required. Includes a section on auto-embedding that can be used for video streaming and real estate listings, as well as other media.

ChatGPT and Understanding AI – dive into the fascinating world of artificial intelligence in this comprehensive two-hour class focused on ChatGPT and its broader implications. Whether you’re a beginner curious about AI or someone looking to leverage these technologies in your work or personal projects, this session will provide you with a solid foundation and practical insights.

CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and Donor Management software are tools used by non-profits to manage relationships with key stakeholders, including donors, clients, grantors, volunteers, and supporters. These platforms enable organizations to track and analyze interactions, donations, and communications. They help with tasks such as managing donor records, processing donations, sending personalized communication, and organizing fundraising campaigns. We have classes on each of the most widely used platforms:

Non-Profit Marketing – best practices to market both sides of your non-profit: your mission and your fundraising programs.

Email Marketing – essential tools and platforms (including Mail Chimp and Constant Contact) to implement and evaluate your email marketing goals.

Social Media Marketing – learn how to evaluate, select and utilize the correct social media platforms for your non-profit.

Facebook & Instagram Marketing – best practices and practical instruction on how to use Facebook & Instagram to market all aspects of your non-profit.


Customized Staff & Individual Training

Customized Staff & Individual Training is $75/student for each scheduled hour.
